Paperwing

”I’ve always felt like I’m not really allowed. Now I have stood inside my fire and come through. I take up space and I make noise. I’m alive.”

Paperwing is the Swedish composer and producer Jenny Soovik, an uncompromising and unbound artist who feels quite powerless against the gravitational pull from the world of music. It seems she can do little else than find outlets for it.

After years of studying jazz and improvisation at Sweden’s most prestigious conservatories levels, Jenny set out as a solo artist and producer. After releasing three self-produced records, notable accomplishments would include praise from critics such as CLASH Magazine and Scandipop, being headhunted by Swedish label Ninetone and striking up a collaboration with sync representation company Sweets & Pop (They Might Be Giants, Sugar Ray and more). Her latest release ”Prism” is featured by acclaimed Swedish artist Loney Dear (courtesy of Real World Records).

Paperwing has been described with the words stunning, intelligent and unique. She writes songs about things that have touched her heart. Stories of love, life and heartbreak, human nature, mother earth and all the mysteries of the universe. All the struggles, pain and suffering of being a living, sentient human being, but also the light, love, joy and ecstasy. From the biggest feelings to the smallest moments, all draped in a suit of goosebump inducing avant-garde pop.
